The cybersecurity improvement projects support SMEs and customised companies in Flanders in improving their cybersecurity.
What is the purpose of the grant?
The cybersecurity improvement projects support SMEs in procuring external advice and guidance to sustainably address their cybersecurity challenges. Nine service providers were selected. For each of them applies that they have both broad cybersecurity competences and extensive experience with cybersecurity guidance of Flemish companies. The SME itself chooses which service provider it wants to use.
An improvement trajectory takes the form of an in-depth, tailor-made individual guidance trajectory.

Who can submit an application?
SMEs and accredited custom work companies regardless of their SME status.
How much funding is there?
The scope of the counselling sessions is determined in function of the identified needs of the company. After an intake interview, the service provider will make an offer. A project has a total cost between € 15,000 and € 30,000 (excluding VAT).
VLAIO will pay a maximum of 45% of the cost price (including VAT).
What costs are eligible?
Only the costs related to the services offered by nine selected service providers under the framework contract are eligible for support by VLAIO.
How do I apply for funding and what are the deadlines?
The company itself has to contact one of the nine service providers selected by VLAIO. Each company can choose the service provider that best fits its profile. The possibility of cooperation between service providers is not excluded either.
After approval of this offer by both the company and VLAIO, the service provider can start with the cybersecurity process.
