What are the advantages of applying for a grant for a development project? VLAIO is launching a call for development projects with activities positioned between “development” (TRL4-7) and “production” (TRL8-9). Usually, a great idea is not immediately profitable for a company. Several steps often need to be taken to turn an idea into a successful business. If one of those steps requires development, you may be eligible for the development project grant.
FI Group will help you with a clear project plan to make your ideas succeed and support you with a strategy to secure the necessary funding.
Some development projects may require testing out the product, process or service – after extensive testing in controlled lab conditions – in real-world conditions of use before proceeding to scale up to the desired level. If these tests aim to gain necessary knowledge about clearly identified uncertainties at this stage of development, these activities may also be eligible for support.
This call is aimed at projects moving towards TRL level 8, describing what still needs to be done before effective market entry.
All companies with legal personality and with operational activities in the Flemish Region.
The budget for this call is provisionally set at EUR 10 million.
The basic support rate is 25% and the maximum amount of support per project is €3 million.
The focus of the projects is between the “development” and “production” phase. The product or innovation should be fully operational but not yet commercialised. This phase should look at how to take the innovation or product to market. There should still be sufficient challenges and risks involved and there should be a post-market (pre-marketing) phase.
