Do you want to prepare for an important and ambitious innovative follow-up trajectory, such as research, development and ICON projects of VLAIO? Then the R&D feasibility study (O&O Haalbaarheidsstudie) can help you do so. However, awarding a feasibility study does not guarantee follow-up support. The innovation you want to realise must have sufficient valorisation potential in Flanders. Although the qualitative elaboration of the valorisation should already be prepared, there may still be uncertainties that are clarified during the feasibility study.
FI Group helps you with a clear project plan to make your ideas succeed and supports you with a strategy to secure the necessary funding.
The purpose of the feasibility study grant is to support companies in investigating the technical and/or scientific aspects of an innovative follow-up project. In addition, topics such as business model innovation, service innovation and intellectual property rights may also be covered. The aim is to enable companies to investigate and assess the feasibility of their innovative project so that they are better prepared for the follow-up process and the possible challenges involved.
All companies with legal personality, non-profit organisations and public law organisations with legal personality and with operational activities in the Flemish Region (or at least a clear impetus to do so) and carrying out economic activities.
Having a climate plan is mandatory for large and/or energy-intensive companies applying for aid. This climate plan describes how the business establishment concerned will make the transition towards low-carbon operations in a climate-neutral Europe by 2050.

The grant is calculated as a percentage of the accepted project budget. This support percentage consists of a basic percentage possibly supplemented by surcharges.
The basic support percentage for a feasibility study is 40% and a maximum of 50%.
Applicants can only submit 1 feasibility study per year and the support is maximum 50,000 euros per partner.
It must be clearly demonstrated that the feasibility study leads to further innovative activities, and that it contributes to knowledge building that allows for a better assessment of risks and opportunities when weighing up before starting the investment in a further substantial trajectory.
Projects that merely seek idea generation or a short-term market study or problem solving are therefore not eligible.
