Would you like to receive funding to expand or strengthen your research and development activities? Thanks to the VLAIO grant Onderzoeksproject, you receive funding to carry out individual projects with one or more companies, to start from an innovative idea that requires new knowledge, to carry out research and development activities.
FI Group helps you with a clear project plan to make your ideas succeed and supports you with a strategy to secure the necessary funding.
Receive grants for high-risk frontier research with positive impact for your company and Flanders.
The focus in a research project is always on knowledge building and high-risk research. It is possible to carry out development activities in support of this within the project. This is referred to as a mixed project.
All companies with legal personality, non-profit organisations and public organisations with legal personality and with operational activities in the Flemish Region (or at least a clear impetus to do so) and which carry out economic activities.
Having a climate plan is compulsory for large and/or energy-intensive aid applicants. This climate plan describes how the business establishment concerned will make the transition towards low-carbon operations in a climate-neutral Europe in 2050.
Since 11 September 2018, support can be given to projects with military or dual use (dual use) under certain conditions.
Contact one of our FI Specialists to support you in developing and fine-tuning your climate plan.
How much funding is there?
The grant is calculated as a percentage of the accepted project budget. This support percentage consists of a basic percentage possibly supplemented by surcharges.
The basic support percentage for a research project is between 25 and 50%.
The project may consist of a mix of development and research activities. Research parts will receive a basic rate of support of 50% and development parts will receive a basic rate of support of 25%.
The aid rate may differ depending on whether the project is a regular project, a project submitted by a VLAIO-recognised interregional or international network, and if the project activities are submitted at a later stage of development.
What costs are eligible?
All activities in which knowledge is built or activities that directly support it can be included in a research project (onderzoeksproject). These can be technological or non-technological in nature.
Mainly applying or incrementally improving proprietary know-how is not sufficient.
