Ask our team a question!

Following the approval of the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD), all large companies and companies listed on regulated markets in the European Union must prepare and publish a Sustainability Report.

This scope of application also includes listed SMEs, although they will be exempt from submitting such a report until 2028.

With regard to non-European companies, the obligation to submit a sustainability report applies to all companies that generate a net turnover in the EU of more than € 150 million and have at least one subsidiary or branch in the EU.

This sustainability report must reflect environmental, social and governance issues, identifying the main impacts and risks associated with each of these issues and how the company manages them. It also requires carrying out a double materiality analysis to determine the ESG issues material to the organization and its value chain, to communicate transparently the business model and to establish short, medium and long-term sustainability objectives. To this end, the CSRD establishes the obligation to use the European Sustainability Reporting Standards (ESRS) developed and under continuous development by EFRAG.
